Summer Welcome



Because of greater than usual demand for Summer Welcome we have added an additional freshmen session on July 1-2. In order to accommodate this addition, the transfer session scheduled for July 1 has been moved to July 2. If you were originally assigned to the July 1 transfer session, a representative from Summer Welcome will contact you to discuss your availability.

Students interested in attending medical school and becoming doctors (M.D.) are free to choose from a wide variety of majors at Mizzou.
The most commonly chosen majors are Biology (College of Arts &Sciences), Biochemistry (College of Agriculture, Food, and Natural Resources), and Chemistry (College of Arts &Sciences).
Students should NOT choose from the majors in School of Health Professions as these courses are designed to prepare students for other health related careers such as physical therapy, occupational therapy, speech language pathology, radiology, diagnostic medical ultrasound, and many others.

Students interested in majoring in Biology or Chemistry should contact the Academic Advising and Exploration Services at (573) 884-9700.

Students interested in majoring in Biochemistry should contact the College of Agriculture, Food, and Natural Resources at (573) 882-4459.

The June 22-23 session is an expanded, two day orientation program for transfer students with limited space. This session will introduce interested transfer students to more opportunities to learn about campus involvement, leadership development, University resources, and a chance to meet other students.

Prospective School of Nursing students should choose only from Summer Welcome session 1-3, 5-13, 15, and 17-19. College of Human Environmental Sciences students should choose only from sessions 1-4, 9-11, and 14-16.

Check-in for Summer Welcome will be from 7:30am – 8:30am at the Gillett Hall front desk. Gillett Hall is located at 800 Virginia Avenue.
Parking will be in the Virginia Avenue Parking Structure-LEVELS 3 and ABOVE ONLY. A parking permit will be included with your Summer Welcome confirmation letter. You are subject to ticketing if you forget to display this permit or park in non-designated parking lots. The Office of New Student and Parent Programs is not responsible for ticket violations.
From East
Via I-70:
I-70 to Highway 63 South (Exit #128). Go left. Exit at Stadium Blvd. (Highway 740). Go right. Drive for 1.5 miles. Turn right at the College Ave stoplight. Turn left on to Rollins St. and then left onto Virginia Ave. Gillett Hall will be on your left, and the Virginia Ave. Parking Structure will be on your right.

From West

Via HWY 63:
