RSVP EDUCATORS

The Relationship and Sexual Violence Prevention (RSVP) Center provides a peer rape educator program that consists of students who are dedicated to stopping relationship and sexual violence both on our campus and in our community. The RSVP Peer Educators (formerly the Peer Rape Educators) receive training on sexual assault, rape, intimate partner violence, and stalking. They use these skills to educate their peers through programs on issues related to relationship and sexual violence. The Peers conduct programs, assist in Rape Awareness Month and Summer Welcome and volunteer their time and efforts in the RSVP Center.
Some of the programs given by the Peers are:
- Acquaintance and Non- Stranger Rape
- Helping a Friend who is a Survivor of Sexual Assault
- Gender Socialization and/or Rape in the Media
- Healthy Relationships and/ or Relationship Violence
- Alcohol, Drugs and Sexual Violence (Predatory Drugs)
- Community Advisor (CA) Program
- Rape Trauma Syndrome
- Race and Rape
The RSVP Educators strive to increase awareness at MU and in our society about the prevalence of and factors contributing to relationship and sexual violence by conducting outreach educational programs. We would love to have you as part of the team!
